Who We Help

Based in Bedford. Serving Virginia with Medicare, Health Insurance, and Social Security Guidance.

Every stage of life brings different insurance and retirement decisions. Some clients are turning 65 and new to Medicare. Others are still working past 65. Some need health insurance under age 65. Teachers and public employees often require pension and Social Security coordination.

Croft Insurance Services, Inc. provides structured, local guidance so you can make informed decisions before enrolling, filing, or changing coverage.

If you are unsure where to begin, the first step is a conversation.

Who We Serve

We work with individuals, couples, families, and educators across Bedford, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake, and surrounding Virginia communities. Below are the primary groups we serve and how we help each move forward with clarity.

Turning 65 & New to Medicare

If you are approaching age 65, you are entering your Initial Enrollment Period. Many individuals are unsure whether to choose Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement, whether Part D is necessary, or how enrollment works if they are already receiving Social Security.

Missing deadlines can result in penalties. Choosing the wrong structure can affect provider access and long-term costs.

We guide new Medicare beneficiaries through plan comparisons, enrollment timing, and prescription coverage decisions so they understand how coverage works before enrolling.

Still Working Past 65

If you are employed beyond age 65, Medicare enrollment timing becomes more complex. Employer size, group coverage status, and retirement timelines all affect whether you should enroll in Part B now or delay without penalty.

We review employer coverage and retirement timelines to determine the correct enrollment strategy and coordinate Social Security timing where applicable.

Medicare + Medicaid (Dual Eligible)

If you qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, you may be eligible for a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan designed to coordinate benefits and reduce out-of-pocket expenses.

We help confirm eligibility, review D-SNP options, and explain how the programs interact before changes are made.

Under 65 & Need Health Insurance

If you do not have employer coverage and are not yet eligible for Medicare, you may need Marketplace (ACA) or individual health insurance.

We assist with income qualification review, plan comparisons, deductible structure evaluation, and enrollment timing so you understand what you are buying before coverage begins.

Social Security Analysis

Retirement planning often involves multiple moving parts, including Social Security benefits, pension income, and Medicare enrollment. Each component has its own rules and timing considerations, and the way they interact can significantly impact long-term financial outcomes.

Our office provides personalized Social Security analysis and coordinated retirement planning support to help you make informed decisions, optimize your benefits, and transition into retirement with clarity and confidence.
